Hamas condemns Israeli settlers’ raid on Al-Aqsa Mosque

The Hamas Movement stated that the large-scale raid carried out on Monday by settler mobs into the courtyards of the Aqsa Mosque — under heavy police protection, during which they performed provocative Talmudic rituals — is a renewed crime and a flagrant violation of the sanctity of Aqsa.

AhlulBayt News Agency: The Hamas Movement has condemned the large-scale raid carried out by Israeli settlers on Monday in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling it a renewed crime and a blatant violation of the site's sanctity.

In a statement issued Monday, Hamas asserted that these escalating incursions are part of a systematic Judaization plan led by the Israeli occupation government in Occupied Jerusalem, aimed at erasing the city’s Arab identity and tightening control over the mosque.

The Movement urged Palestinians in the West Bank, Occupied Jerusalem, and the 1948-occupied territories to escalate resistance against these actions targeting their land and holy sites.

Hamas emphasized the importance of mass mobilization, steadfast presence (ribat), and traveling to Al-Aqsa to prevent settler groups from imposing temporal or spatial division on the mosque.

Additionally, Hamas called on Arab and Islamic states, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and the Arab League to take immediate action to curb Israeli aggression in Occupied Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque and to stop the ongoing war against the Palestinian people.

Hamas official Majed Abu Qatish stressed that the increasing settler incursions and their desecration of Al-Aqsa require urgent intervention to counter the Judaization efforts and protect the sanctity of holy sites.

Abu Qatish noted that data and reports confirm that Al-Aqsa and Jerusalem are experiencing unprecedented violations by Israeli forces and settlers, including intensified marches, Talmudic rituals, and aspirations to take full control of the mosque.

On Monday morning, more than 500 settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque through the al-Magharibeh Gate under heavy Israeli police protection.

Meanwhile, mosque guards thwarted an attempt by three settlers to approach the Dome of the Rock while carrying part of a “sacrificial offering,” coinciding with mass settler raids during the Jewish holiday of Shavuot.
